Great danger threatens the world. Doesn’t really matter who or what it is- maybe some old demons have awakened, or older spirits want their revenge, anything. The thing is that the Boogeyman and the Guardians have to join their forces to defeat a greater foe, and nobody is happy about it. Their teamwork is lacking, mostly because of Pitch, but the Guardians know they need his help. This temporary alliance doesn’t change anything and they still hate his guts and vice versa.
But after few battles and some time together the Guardians start to notice things about Pitch. Things like he never sleeps, broods alot, he’s way too skinny. He sometimes is reckless in battle and takes on more opponents then he can fight off (like he did in the movie), doesn’t care about is injuries, or about himself all that much. He is still the same Pitch, with all the sass and dissing everybody, it’s just that sometimes they can see cracks in his attitude. Signs of emotional desolation, of depression. All he’s ever received is emotional negativity, hate and neglect. The concept of kindness and selflessness is completely foreign to him and wouldn’t even know how to respond to it, because everybody treats him as an evil you have to push away. But since that is all he’s ever known he doesn’t cry or make a fuss about it, for him it’s just a fact of life. But accepting his situation doesn’t make the sadness and loneliness go away.
A Fair Price (Gen)
Jack’s been alone for 300 years. He holds a little grain of resentment to the other Guardians for leaving him alone for that long, struggling to figure out what to do.
The Guardians, on the other hand, are rather solitary creatures in their own way. They don’t think of 300 years alone except doing their job with barely any other persons contact as unusual, or even something worth mentioning. Not being believed in as far as they think was the worst part. But now that Jack’s believed in, he should be fine. And they can withdraw back to their own places, but keeping a better eye out for Pitch.
It’s up to the Guardian of Fun to show them all what a friend is like- a real friend.
Why was there no mention of North’s missus in the movie? Because there was an accident (anon can decide what kind) and she is no longer with North. The other Guardians are aware because they were present for her memorial/funeral/what-have-you and have taken great care never to mention her for fear of North’s breakdown.
Jack is unaware and asks about her because he knows the legends that humans tell and there’s always a ‘Mrs. Claus’ to make cookies.
Cue painful retelling/tears/frustration from North and lots of h/c from the other Guardians.
Mod is back, for now
Pitch was once a wise, brave general. He guarded the prison where all nightmares and evil things were kept before he was eventually overwhelmed by the darkness, and was trapped on Earth. The Guardians fight him, knowing that he will never return to what he once was- but they are slowly, bit by bit, destroying the worse parts of him with every fight they have.
Pitch, at the beginning of the movie, is a far different man then the one they have been battling, and its beginning to show. By the end, it’s practically confirmed. The Guardians think it may be time to start the next step- actually befriending the man and driving out more of the nightmares.
So I’ve gotten back from the lake house without much other than a sunburn, but this Thursday through Sunday I will be in Indiana, and as of yet I do not know if I’ll have WiFi in our hotel, or indeed even time to go on it. But hey, if anyone’s going to GenCon, feel free to message me about a meetup! :3
Last Protector (Gen)
As far as I’m aware (having not read the books), none of the other Guardians died and were then resurrected to serve their roles. Therefore, when they ask Jack what his memory showed and Jack tells them he drowned saving his little sister, none of them are expecting it.
Bonus points if North suddenly starts noticing Jack’s resemblance to other children North has seen, huddled in doorways on the streets of Victorian London on Christmas Eve, boxes of matches still clutched in their hands…
Silent Hill 3 crossover with Heather running into the Boogeyman himself.
So Jack is feeling quite upset with the fact that even though he’d found out he had a sister,It was long after she died,And he can’t stop wondering what happened to her after his death.
Meanwhile,North (Or any of the other Guardians) forces Bunnymund to find out why he has been so distant lately.
After finding out,Bunny decided to help Jack out by sending them both to the past,Giving the boy a chance to watch his sister grow up.
Open Book (Gen)
After being isolated for 300 years Jack has become spectacularly awful at lying. It’s not like he had the opportunity to practice, you know? The lies could be anything, ranging from deliciously serious to marvelously ridiculous!
I know I’ve been pretty consistent in my posting of fills, but I’m going with my BF’s family to a lakehouse for the weekend, so don’t be expecting any new posts until Monday.
Have a nice weekend, y’all :)
